The Swedish massage experience
Swedish massage typically uses flowing movements and light-to-medium pressure. Many people choose it when relaxation, a calmer pace, and an easy introduction to massage are the priorities.
Pressure can still be adjusted during the session. A lighter style does not mean every area must receive exactly the same pressure.
The deep tissue experience
Deep tissue massage uses slower, more focused work and is often selected by clients who prefer firmer pressure. The goal is a deliberate experience centered on the muscle areas you identify.
Firm pressure should still feel manageable. Tell your therapist immediately if the pressure is uncomfortable or if you would like the approach changed.
How to decide
Choose based on the experience you want today, not simply the strongest option. Travel, sleep, recent activity, and your comfort with massage can all shape your preference.
- Choose Swedish for a gentle, relaxation-led session
- Choose deep tissue if you prefer slower, focused, firmer work
- Ask questions before booking if you are unsure
- Continue communicating throughout the session
